The Australian Pelican is often seen around the coasts, often roosting on sandbanks, rock platforms and reefs, or swimming in lagoons, bays and estuarine waters.
The Pelican is a bird I often see when visiting our local Central Coast beaches. I remember one morning after dropping my boys to school, just watching a few of these beautiful birds wading in the waters at our local Haven. They were just minding their own business, ignoring everything around them — keeping to its own thoughts. The Pelican is a very quiet bird. Peaceful. It flies so gracefully, soaring through the sky with its own thoughts. Sometimes silence is the best answer.
I’m really excited about this artwork, as I’ll be partnering with Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre (CTRC). They are a voluntary non-profit organisation dedicated to the rehabilitation of sick and injured turtles. When you purchase one of these ‘WATERCOLOUR’ artworks, you won’t just be supporting me, but 20% of all proceeds will be going towards CTRC and the work that goes on there.
