There are seven species of pelicans in the world. The most characteristic feature of the pelican, is the elongated bill with its massive throat pouch. The Australian Pelican's bill is 40 cm - 50 cm long and is larger in males than females.
I chose to zoom in and focus on the bill and face of this beautiful creature, in this artwork. They truly are a marvellous and peaceful bird.
I’m really excited about this artwork, as I’ll be partnering with Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre (CTRC). They are a voluntary non-profit organisation dedicated to the rehabilitation of sick and injured turtles. When you purchase one of these ‘WATERCOLOUR’ artworks, you won’t just be supporting me, but 20% of all proceeds will be going towards CTRC and the work that goes on there.
